That’s right! A course* on all things NAT HLA for those of you who have not crossed it before (or who maybe want a little refresher) on some of the challenges, procedures and pointers, to help it go smoothly.

*When I say ‘course’ I mean a hopefully helpful guide. This, of course, is not official, is not training, and should not be used in place of any of those things. It is rated PG007 which means ‘Proper Guidance’ required and this should only ever be used as a sort of refresher, helper, recapper, summariser thing.

What will you learn?

• A bit of history so you can bore your co-pilot at 3am over 030W with random historical facts
• Some of the procedures you need to know so you don’t mess it up
• All about the challenges that could catch you out
• A bit of geography so you know what to do if it all goes wrong
• The name of the Doc you should reference for official guidance (because this isn’t! We can’t stress that enough)

What you won’t learn!

• This isn’t an official NAT HLA course. Your operator needs to give you one of those. This is more a “helpful stuff to refresh your brain” so your first flight, line check, any flight really, can go as well as possible!
